The rhetoric that Socialist use to sell their product usually sounds great. Everyone will be equal and everyone will be taken care of etc. On the surface it might sound similar to the United Order, but ultimately they are fueled by completely different motives. Sure, some might be inclined to support Socialism for altruistic reasons. However, when actually enforced it is used as a means to control the people. The few decide what's "best" for everyone else. Somehow the leaders of such systems end up with all the money and power while the people are poor and powerless. The key difference between Socialism and the United Order is Love. The United Order works when not only the people have genuine love and concern for each other but also those in power. I don't think that can happen in our current state, I think we are going to have to wait until Christ is reigning personally on the earth for the United Order to work. Christ loves us all and knows exactly what we need. Until we have perfect leadership and a genuine love and concern for our fellowmen the United Order will not work. Anything attempting to substitute that is merely a philosophy of man which may or may not be mingled with Scripture.
