Section134.com is named after Section 134 of the Book of Doctrine and Covenants of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The section deals with the official position of the Church regarding government and the laws. It is, in fact, a political statement.

Mormons do not view their religion as a compartment in their lives. Mormonism is a lifestyle that encompasses all aspects of life. Politics, like education or family matters, is included in Mormonism. Some detractors have incorrectly labeled Mormonism subversive for this reason. The truth is that latter-day saints revere the Constitution as part of the work of God in preparation for the second coming of Jesus Christ, who is to reign as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords. The implication in that phrase is that, during Christ’s reign on Earth, there will continue to be kings and lords and presidents, with Jesus Christ being the head of them all.

Disclaimer: The opinions expressed here are our own. Section134.com is not intended to be considered official Doctrine of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, even when statements from the General Authorities of the Church or passages of Scripture are quoted.
