A Conversation between a Leftist and a Mormon

My friend Nate Walker is an excellent thinker with a near-flawless memory. I’ve never met anyone with a greater talent for distilling a situation down to its core principles. He recently handed me a few pages of his travel diary that documented this conversation with a liberal taxi driver with a Ph.D. while traveling in [...]

Intelligent Design, Darwinism, and Ben Stein

Ben Stein’s new film, Expelled: the Movie, is being hailed by some intelligent design proponents as long overdue. The interesting part to me is that there are so many neo-darwinists that must tell everyone how wrong ID is, despite their claims that ID has nothing to offer. Well, if that’s the case, then why all [...]

Harry Reid’s BYU Visit

The fine folks over at Uncorrelated have a couple of good points about Sen. Reid’s visit to BYU. Evangelicals for Mitt

The good folks over at Evangelicals for Mitt have a great post about the double standard to which Mitt Romney is being held. Glad to see some support for Mitt from the Christian right, as well as some good sense.

Interesting Development: Mormons are Christians

I ran across this post tonight concerning the “Are Mormons Christians?” debate. If this is legitimate, then maybe we can finally get on to some real theological discussion. You see, I believe that Evangelical Christians say that Mormons aren’t Christian to avoid further debate. When someone says Mormons aren’t Christian, the first response from Mormons [...]

Andrew Sullivan’s Bigotry

Andrew Sullivan, in his post for today, wonders if Orson Scott Card would vote for an Islamist over a liberal Christian because they, too, are serious about their religion. It’s a nonsensical question. He misses Card’s point completely. Card says he would NOT vote for a Mormon who is not committed to his faith, and [...]
